One of the major problems in the church today, is that we mix the Old Covenant with the New Covenant. The Old Covenant was based upon obedience - if you’re obedient, THEN you get rewarded. The New Covenant is based upon Jesus. You believe and receive Him, and you automatically receive the blessings.
There were hindrances to receiving the blessings of God in the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant was focused on us and our actions; the New Covenant is focused on one man, Jesus Christ, and HIS actions! Sometimes it’s hard for people to accept the simplicity of the New Covenant, so they still live under that “Old Covenant” mentality.
Whatever you focus on will determine how you live.
Jesus came to fulfill the New Covenant so that you can receive all of the promises of God. ALL of the promises are already in Jesus. 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV) says, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” That’s good news!
