A lot of Christians think that Christianity is “hard.” They think that they have to follow a list of rules to be accepted by God. They read the Bible and know the Bible, but they don’t really know God. We really begin to learn how to think about God, by being in relationship with Jesus.

2 Corinthians 3:4-5 (TPT) says, “We carry this confidence in our hearts because of our union with Christ before God. Yet we don’t see ourselves as capable enough to do anything in our own strength, for our true competence flows from God’s empowering presence.”

It began in the Garden of Eden with the one thing God asked of Adam and Eve – not to eat from a specific tree. The reason God didn’t want Adam and Eve to eat from the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, wasn’t because He wanted to keep them in the dark. It was because He knew that when they discovered “right from wrong,” they would focus on that in their relationship with God, instead of just walking with God.

“This is right, try to do this. That is wrong, don’t do that.”

Living from the mindset of right and wrong will always create a distance between you and God, which is why Adam and Eve hid themselves from God.

God just wanted to walk with us and have a relationship with us. He knew there was NO possible way that we could keep a bunch of rules, which is why He sent Jesus. We don’t have to focus on doing wrong or right, we just need to focus on Jesus, and He changes us from the inside out!
